Cesar Zarate

Cesar Zarate is a dedicated music educator, accomplished performer, and brass specialist based in Sacramento, California. He holds both a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and a Master's degree in Teaching from California State University, Sacramento. During his studies, Cesar had the privilege of working with esteemed mentors including Jennie Blomster (Horn), William R. Shannon, Monica Martinez, and Elisha Wells, among others.

 

Cesar teaches Band, Orchestra, and Choir at Wilson C. Riles Middle School in Roseville, CA, where he strives to inspire a lifelong appreciation for music in his students. He is also a proud member of the artistic staff of the Sacramento Youth Symphony, serving as a brass coach. In addition to his teaching roles, Cesar has served as a clinician for French Horn at the CBDA Northern California Super Saturday All-State Clinics since 2023.

An accomplished performer, Cesar has played horn with prestigious ensembles such as the Sacramento State Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and the Sacramento Youth Symphony Orchestra. As a versatile brass specialist, he is proficient in playing trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, and tuba, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his instruction.

 

Cesar has been an integral part of Hayward La Honda Music Camp since 2017, where he initially served as a lead counselor and now contributes as the Camp Counselor Coordinator. His commitment to fostering young talent extends to his private teaching studio in Sacramento County.

 

With his dedication to music education, performance, and mentorship, Cesar Zarate is proud to contribute to the vibrant musical landscape of the Sacramento region.
