Kenny Nguyen

Kenny is a Deputy Attorney General with the California Department of Justice and has been practicing law for over twenty years in civil litigation and law enforcement, with a focus on consumer and investor protection.  He has been active in professional associations, including serving as chair of scholarship committees that create opportunities for minority and economically disadvantaged law students. He received a bachelor’s degree in political science from UCLA and his law degree from Cornell Law School.

Kenny’s passion for the symphony began in fifth grade when he received a free ticket from the public library to attend a teaching performance of Prokofiev’s “Peter and Wolf” at the Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco.  Kenny joined the Board of Directors in 2024 because of his desire to ensure that high quality music education and skill development are available to the youth of the Sacramento region.  He views the mission and role of the Sacramento Youth Symphony as critical to developing young musicians who may not have access to such programs elsewhere.  In addition to serving on the Board, Kenny also volunteers as a local high school site council member to provide oversight over curriculum and school spending.
