Shauna was born and raised in China during the period of its initial globalization, inspired by China’s economic opening. She sought the opportunities to work in the import and export business for five years in international trade company before she immigrated to the United States in 2006. She was fascinated with accounting. In order to advance her passion in accounting, she started at the local community college, earned her bachelor’s degree in accountancy in 2014 and master’s degree in Accountancy in 2020 from Sacramento State University. She is currently working on her CPA license.
Shauna used to work in EDD as Accountant Trainee. She was a Part-time Chinese Teacher and part-time Treasurer in Chinese school. She spent a lot of time volunteering at her kids elementary and middle school, she does art docent (teaching kids once a month art); Wednesday folder (file kids’ schoolwork every Wednesday); Room Mom (planning four parties during the school year); Readers’ workshop (arranging small group, read the book together and discuss the questions regarding the topic); Helper in classroom (Helping kids’ math and English when they were struggling. In addition, Shauna studied a lot of real-estate investment and invested some real-estate as a realtor.
Shauna loves the way her son and daughter’s passion for music. Her son Solomon currently plays Trombone in Symphonic Wind Ensemble in SYS. In order to support her son, Shauna has volunteered as a Board member to help and grow together with SYS.
