Doug grew up in New England and took up the violin after hearing a teacher play it in his 6th grade class. That experience ignited a passion for playing music that remains with him today. Both of Doug’s grown children played in the Youth Symphony and Doug currently plays in a local Orchestra. Doug is a past president of the Youth Symphony Board of Director’s, and currently serves on the Foundation Board. Doug has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Mass. Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of California at Davis. When not playing the violin, Doug enjoys sailing with his wife of 33 years and friends.
